JWDaughter, basically what Thedog1 said. We hosted a foreign language group recently and I know they specifically went out looking for ones that they assumed spoke the language. I'm not certain how they obtain addresses of individuals they assume speak the language. They were largely autonomous despite our congregation sponsoring them. I never went out in service with them, so I dont know exactly how they approach targeting potential targets. Maybe the phone book, or otherwise? One thing I do know is, if an english speaking publisher came across a house of people that spoke the language that the foreign language group was targeting, that info was handed off to them as a result. We passed it off whether or not we verified our assumptions were valid. If nobody came to the door, and the name on the mailbox looked like what we thought it was, we handed that info off to the foriegn language group. Which makes me wonder JWDaughter is there any reason to conclude someone Spanish speaking has ever recently or currently resides where you stay? It could be why they keep showing up.

lol humbly, DataDog. I'm speechless. I sat there looking at the screen cursing Billy the Ex Bethelite like this can't be life, and I have about 20 tracts left in my service bag. Lord knows how many tracts are still at the Hall. And they wanted us to keep count on how many were placed, and they're going to include a new column on our service time slips to take into consideration these new tracts. On a missed field goal lol. I, ummm, I just can't believe this.

Ummm, I made the comment that these tracts will be placed as sure as Alabama would beat Auburn, and ummmmm, well that didn't happen. On a missed field goal at that. Well, Stand For Pure Worship respectfully bows out as an apologist tonight and forever. Good night, and good luck. It was fun, but, wow. Can't believe this.

Well Losch is entitled to his opinion and his pompadour, I'm sure Bro. Herd would disagree. The JW message doesn't change, it adjusts. There is a fundamental difference.

No, see that's where you're wrong Billy. Just because the campaign ended today, didn't mean that the message at the heart of our effort will be exchanged in the future. As was mentioned in our most recent District Conventions, these tract campaigns are going to be more frequent. Our field service time slips are even going to me modified so as to record just how many of these special tracts are placed. This is just the beginning. As sure as Alabama will beat Auburn, these special tracts will be placed.

The campaign ends today. We had some success placing them with people. All it takes is a seed.

So sad that it's over. Other than Mad Men, BB might be the greatest drama series to have ever graced television screens. Nice that you got to check out the area it was filmed at. Looking forward to the Saul spinoff.

"Is Daniels a WT appointed lawyer? If so then this is fairly damning considering the advice he gave the elders was to withhold information about a crime that had been committed. Where's SFPW when you need him? I'd like to hear the argument for the elders keeping schtum.."
There's no argument to be made. It's repugnant.

Watchtower schools--why the consolidation?
by wannaexit infirst there was the ministerial training school ( mts), then changed to the school for single brothers.
most recently the school for christian couples (replacing gilead).
all of a sudden news comes out the all these schools are consolidated under one umbrella: the evangelizing school --open to single brothers, single sisters, married couples all the way up to 65 years of age.. i wonder as to the motive behind all these changes this year..

If I were to take a quick guess, I'd say lack of male applicants. I don't know one brother that knows twenty other brothers that attended these new schools. Ditto for couples. Maybe as a bonus, the branch is playing a hands off matchmaker role considering how many sisters want a husband, and how so many single brothers and sisters are developing relationships outside of the Lord.

I would question how serious one believes whether or not the end is near by joining such a club. For one thing the association would be questionable, not to mention the purpose of joining such a club which would be to network if I'm not mistaken, right? Network to do what? Exactly. An appointed brother belonging to such a club would not have freeness of speech when speaking to young ones in the congregation about the dangers of after school clubs and joining athletic teams. While I agree that it should be a conscience decision, it's definitely not a spirituality mature decision.
